Ranbir Kapoor to play a confused NRI

Ranbir Kapoor is set to play a confused NRI in a film to be directed by Mani Ratnam.Even as Ratnam shoots for his film ‘Raavana’ with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai in the south.
The talented director has zeroed down on the script for his next. Written by Rensil D’Silva, the movie is based on the theme of identity crisis faced by an NRI.
Ranbir Kapoor has been approached to play the role of a young, outgoing Indian in London who is torn between his Indian values and western lifestyle. It’s a story of coming of age of a youth trying to get a clear perspective of life.
Ranbir is in contention for the role and he has, in all likelihood, already bagged it.Other starcast of the untitled film is yet to be finalized. Ranbir presently has two interesting projects in his hands Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Wake Up Sid .Shooting of Ratnam’s film is likely to begin in the middle of 2009.
