It’s the season of break-ups in Bollywood. Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor  all seem to be heading towards singledom again.
 
What’s different is that this time it’s the women taking the call. While Katrina is ‘sick’ of boyfriend Salman’s chaotic ways, Kareena has had it with lover Saif ’s possessiveness, and Priyanka has been avoiding her recently launched boyfriend Harman’s calls.

Ayesha Takia and boyfriend Farhan Azmi have decided to get married.

The two had been seeing each other for around 3 years and were quite committed and open about their relationship, so the news of an impending marriage comes as little surprise.

The date has not been announced, but the wedding is expected to be at the end of the year or the beginning of 2009.

Ayesha's non happening career could have been partly responsible for the decision. A talented actress, Ayesha has not had any hits, despite doing some decent films.

Her policy to "not expose" had limited her options in Bollywood where nothing sells like glamour and a bit of skin show.

She was last seen in De Talli!, which fared poorly as well.

Ayesha and Farhan, who is a restauranteur and Samajwadi Party politician Abu Asim Azmi's son, have plans to set up a boutique hotel in Goa.

Bollywood to break free from the image that she is suited only for serious stuff in Bengali films.

"It is important for an actress not to have any image. I am tired of being seen in serious cinema," Raima said in Mumbai on Tuesday (July 29).

Raima wants to strike a right balance between Bengali films and Bollywood. "I will do only lead roles in both kinds of cinema."
    
Speaking about her desire to portray roles in mainstream Hindi films, she said it was not that she did not want to do serious cinema. "I have got to essay several roles of substance in serious cinema. But, in commercial films, I can play my age and have fun," she added.

Q. You are working in Deepak Tijori’s The Man alongside Sunny Deol. Tell us something about it?
A. I can’t reveal much about the film right now. All I can say is that it’s a thriller. I am working along with Sunny Deol, Arjun Rampal and Sagarika Ghatge. It’s a Sunny Deol style action-romantic movie. I’m playing the role of a detective in the movie which is quite interesting, so people will get to see me in a different look all together.

Q. How have you prepared yourself for this character?
A. See first of all, I don’t know how the detectives work and function.

So I did whatever I was told by my director. According to Deepak, I fitted the best for this role and the kind of attitude required for this role suited me. He had full faith in me. So I didn’t need to transform much for the role.

Some six years ago the most beautiful woman on earth dumped him. She had no choice. Now the same question haunts Katrina Kaif too. She may dump Salman too for the very same reason.

Salman Khan, despite being 43 years old behaves like a teenager and is still very aggressive. Had it not been due to his bad behaviour that at times goes to the extent of even his companions getting beaten up by him Aishwarya Rai would have been with him and not a Bachchan bahu.

Aishwarya Rai who had dated Salman Khan, her co-star from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, after the filming of that movie was forced to break up due to Salman’s bad behavious.

Their breakup a few years later generated a substantial amount of press attention; a police report from Rai's parents turned up alleging that Khan had smashed windows and furniture at their home, and an inebriated Khan subsequently assaulted Rai on the set of a movie she was working on, soon before he was arrested for drunk driving and vehicular homicide.

Though Katrina Kaif came forward and defended Salman, it still did not satisfy people. “Enough is enough, I have never talked about my personal life and don't intend to because I have always believed that what is personal is personal. But this is too much. The story that has appeared is utter rubbish and fabricated”, Katrnia said defending Salman.

The last straw was probably his behavior at her birthday party recently when Salman Khan initiated a fight between him and guest Shah Rukh Khan that nearly came to blows.

The sources said that after the incident Salman and Katrina are not on talking terms.
“Katrina is blaming Salman for the entire episode,” said a common friend. Katrina was of the opinion that Salman should have restrained himself as he was playing the host. “But certain things are not in anyone’s control and it is destined to happen,” Katrina said in an interview.

A close friend of Salman said: “He is good at heart. He took initiative for the party to please Katrina. But everything went wrong.” Industry insiders have been talking about the cooling off of this relationship for some months now. The on-off affair has already toned down to a mere friendship, according to their close friends.

South Indian actress Lakshmi Rai, who has starred opposite Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty, has finally realised her dream of entering Bollywood by signing a film opposite singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya.

Lakshmi plays the role of a Punjabi girl in the film Hey Gujju, directed by Satish Kaushik. And she has already shot two songs for the film.As a young girl in Belgaum, Karnataka, Lakshmi always dreamt of working in a Hindi film, and she says her dream is finally coming true.

"I had always dreamed (of working in Bollywood). Thanks to the blessings of god and my parents, my progress in films has been very fast. I have been extremely busy ever since I started working for my first debut film ('Karka Kasadara') in Tamil."

Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket on 9X is surely turning into a boxing ring as everyone out there is ready to punch the other…After the boys played out their round last week, it was the girls who jumped into the ring this time! Twinkle Bajpai of the Central Zone follows the steps of her partner Puneet Israni this week as she fights back with Panchi Bora from the Eastern zone about the comment made by the latter on her being a nautanki on the sets.

Twinkle’s open remark ‘I do not appreciate anyone’s criticism about me, other than my close ones’ made Panchi upset and the usually smiling actress was seen crying on the sets.

A well-placed source of ours states, “All said and done, this week was not as bad as last week. Basically it was just a misunderstanding which got cleared. Twinkle pointed fingers at Panchi Bora for what she had told her last week and the actress broke into tears. But everything got resolved quickly when the mentors butted in and handled the situation”.

The shooting of Karan Johar's next production Dostana directed by Tarun Mansukhani and starring John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan is now complete, save for a song.

Tarun's baby Karan says, "Dostana is Tarun's baby. He and the entire crew handled everything so superbly that I was worried. As a producer I was there in Miami for the first schedule for only two weeks. I was an unemployed producer.

Dostana was the title of my dad's (Yash Johar) first film and besides a sense of nostalgia meets emotion, my film and the 1980 Dostana have nothing in common. My Dostana is a love story with a fun twist." The film ended on schedule and now only an item number needs to be picturized on John, Priyanka and Abhishek which we will shoot in September when Abhishek comes back from his world tour.
