Shilpa Shetty is no longer doing her much publicized British Film. Reports suggest that the 32-year-old actress was approached to act in a comedy flick 'Quick, Slip Me A Bride but the deal fell through as Shilpa quoted 350,000 pounds.
A website quoted the producer Renu Patel saying, "Shilpa agreed to film with us. Now we have been forced to go ahead without her because she wanted 350,000 pounds and insisted half of this had to be paid before she even shot any scene." Reportedly, Shilpa had also asked them to postpone the shoot till next year, which the producer was not willing to do.
Shilpa's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar admitted that Shilpa did quote her price. " Shilpa asks for what she deserves and she even gets what she deserves. Having said that, money is not always the criteria why an assignment doesn't work out. There could be a difference of opinion about the role or a problem with dates," replied Dale.
"To my knowledge, for this film, the dates clashed with that of her musical. Shilpa is scheduled to perform her Broadway musical premiering in Germany in about a month, after which the musical will travel to UK, US and Australia," he added.

The participants for "Nach Baliye 3" have been announced. And after "Big Boss", this will be the second time when the sultry Kashmira Shah and the outspoken Rakhi Sawant will come face to face again. The two started off as good friends in "Big Boss" but things turned vicious soon. Ultimately, neither was able to win the reality show. Rakhi is known for her bang-on-the-face attitude while Kashmira is infamously 'bitchy'.Guess, it would be interesting to watch the chemistry, which is quite expected, this time around. Would it be a clash of lewd comments or a backstabbing battle? That will be revealed only after the show commences. As of now, the only similarity between them is a part of the names of their boyfriends, Rakhi's boyfriend's name is Abhishek Awasthi, while Kashmira's is Krishna Abhishek. Hope at least, that similarity stays till the show wraps up.
Vidya Balan learnt dancing for Piyadarshan's Bhool Bhulaya, John is learning to play the guitar in Rock Star …And to play the stressed-out working class commuter in Nishikant Kamath's Domibivili Fast, Madhavan starved himself for days."I had to feel what it means to skip meals, go hungry for a large part of the day to feel like my character. In Guru where I had a role Abhishek Bachchan put on oodles of weight to play the businessman. I think authenticity is catching on in our cinema."Hindi cinema seems enamoured of sports films. Beginning with Shimit Amin's Chak De this month is going for big sporty films all starring big stars alongside real sport people. While Chak De features a bevy of actual female hockey players as part of 'coach' Shah Rukh Khan's team, Vivek Agnihotri's Goal which opens later this year features footballers from Bangladesh playing alongside John Abraham and Arshad Warsi."It was tough." Says John. "Fortunately I've played football at the national level. So I could cope."Adds Arshad, "The era of specialized acting is upon Bollywood. Gone is the time when actors could fake it.Now you really have to know what you're doing. Otherwise audiences would boo and shoo you."Shabana Azmi spent months learning Carnatic singing before doing Mahesh Dattani's Morning Raga. Her devotion paid rich dividends. An accomplished composer-singer like Shankar Mahadevan thinks Shabana's level of authenticity in Morning Raga is extraordinary.Even a relative newcomer like Sammir Dattani pulled out all stops to play the 17 year old government informer in Mani Shankar's Mukhbiir."First of all I'm 25 but had to play a 17-year old. Then I played a guy who changes his identity completely including a new religion. I had to adopt a new lingo and body language. Then there were more fun things to do like learning to shoot a gun."Keeping the changing trends and levels of authenticity in mind, Anubhav Sinha intends to train three completely untried actors to play the roles that he wants them to. "I can't reveal what they are going to play. But by the time we start shooting in Italy on July 15 the boys will be completely ready to play what they have to."
Putting to rest all speculation hours before the release, The Big B clarifies that the Mehbooba song in RGV's Aag is purely Urmila Matondkar's sizzle drizzle.Says the Big B, "Like Gabbar in Ramesh Sippy's Sholay my character Babban stays out of the dance number. He's more a curious spectator than a participant. No, I don't get to dance with Urmila."So what was it like watching his son dance with one of screen's most sensational sizzlers? "Even Abhishek doesn’t shake a leg with Urmila. He just sings a few lines, strums around. That's it. Mehbooba is essentially Urmila's moment of glory."This isn't the first time that Urmila will sizzle in an exceptional item song. Earlier she wowed audiences with the number Chamma chamma and Aaaiye aa jaaiyiye in Raj Kumar Santoshi's China Gate and Lajja.Says Urmila, "Dancing is my passion. And when you have both the Bachchans as your co-star in the dance you are bound to be even more enthused. I'm a big fan of Amitji and Helenji. So my Mehbooba is a double tribute."

Though Himesh Reshammiya is working very hard on the sound of the new Karz, the recording, contrary to reports, won't start until October. Says a bewildered Himesh, "Of course, I was in Singapore but not for recording. Why should I record the songs of Karz in a foreign country? I was there for a concert. Now I'm back in Mumbai. I’ve already prepared the songs of Karz. But the recording is still to be done."The Karz album is expected to feature 7 songs. "But it can go up to 8," says the film's lyricist Sameer. So what about all those reports about Himesh and Sameer meeting up in Singapore? Lyricist Sameer clarifies, "I did join Himesh in Singapore for the music of Karz but not to record. We were there for jamming sessions. Believe me; Himesh has done a mind- blowing job with the music. We'll begin recording in October." Sameer is looking forward to the release of his songs in Saawariya on September 13.Satish Kaushik, who has just left for Bangkok has been unable to make progress with the Karz project because of the bereavement in the family. "But I can tell you this much, every bit Himesh's soundtrack will be as pulsating as Laxmikant-Pyarelal's in the original. I've grown up with the music of L-P and I had made Himesh do an LP-styled score in Tere Naam. When I heard Himesh’s songs for KarzI was blown away. In fact, it was the songs that clinched the deal for me. After hearing the songs there was no question of not doing the film."Satish clarifies that no other actors except Himesh and Urmila Matondkar have been finalized yet. "For Simi Garewal's role we needed someone regal, haughty, mysterious and sensuous; a stylish woman living alone in an ivory tower. Urmila fits the bill perfectly."
