Akshay Kumar back to action: Designer Shabina Khan, who is turning producer for the first time with Rowdy Rathore, has roped in Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha for the action thriller, to be directed by Prabhu Deva.
“I am very excited about this. Rowdy Rathore is a hardcore action, masala film; and with such a talented team on board, I am praying the audience will also love it,” she said.
The film, that she is co-producing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will also see Akshay return to what used to be his favourite genre once: action. He is already undergoing rigorous physical training from Hollywood action directors.
Meanwhile, moving away from his favourite genre is filmmaker Bhansali, who has, for the first time, gotten himself involved with an action film. “This is the first time I am venturing into action movie territory. It is an alien concept for me. At this juncture, I want to move out of my comfort zone to do new and untried things,” Bhansali says.
