We all know Bollywood follows the herd mentality. If one actor dons a six-pack, rest of them follow suit. Similarly if one does a cop movie, everyone else to wants to dress up in the khakhi uniform for the big screen. The latest obsession among B-Towners is to play a bad guy. Earlier actors who played heroes never dared to play a villain. It wasn’t cool to be bad! But now, everyone – from Aamir Khan to Sonu Sood – wants to show off their dark side. Aamir is doing it in slick thriller Dhoom 3, Sanjay Dutt has done it for Karan Johar’s Agneepath and Vivek Oberoi will fight the superhero in Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 2.
And, guess who wants to join these stars? Akshay Kumar. The Desi Boyz actor recently said in an interview that he is itching to play a baddie on the big screen. It won’t be his first time though. Akki has played a negative character earlier in Ajnabee. But due to the demands of the script, his negative side was revealed only in the end. Now he wants to be an out and out baddie onscreen. Like Shahrukh Khan was in Darr or even Saif Ali Khan was in Omkara. Looks like back-to-back failures, like Thank You, Patiala House, Tees Maar Khan and Action Replayy, at the box office are forcing him to reconsider his success mantra!
